Introduction to Image Management

Presented by: Kerry-Ann Harriott, Spatial Innovision

Imagery is significant data for many GIS applications, but managing large collections of imagery and imagery types can present a challenge. ArcGIS 10.1 includes mosaic dataset, a geodatabase data model used to efficiently manage and serve imagery and other raster data. ArcGIS 10.1 includes all the tools necessary for image management and analysis in an integrated workflow.

In this seminar, you will learn about types of raster, creating a mosaic dataset, basic raster processing and the new tools and recommended workflows for managing collections of imagery and raster as well as sharing imagery in ArcGIS 10.1.

Who Should Attend
GIS managers and data managers who are interested in learning how to implement and manage imagery throughout their organization and GIS users who want to use the latest tools to work with imagery in ArcGIS.
Learn How To

  • Manage different types of image files using desktop 10.1.
  • Manage collections of imagery using the mosaic dataset.
  • Implement dynamic mosaicking and on-the-fly processing.
  • Perform basic Raster processes
  • Take advantage of the rapidly growing imagery content available in ArcGIS Online

Software Requirements
This seminar was developed to support the following software products:

  • ArcGIS 10.1 for Desktop (Can support ArcGIS 10.0 as well)

GNSS Corrections Infrastructure
Presented by Douglas Nelson, Spatial Innovision
The science behind the autonomous positions generated by GPS receivers lead to errors that need to corrected to meet high accuracy requirements (surveying, network management). Corrections may come from a base receiver, a reference station, a virtual reference station or newer global error modelling algorithms. What has been Spatial’s role in establishing private correction and National Geodetic Infrastructure in the Caribbean? How have we dealt with various local conditions, communication provisions and challenges in three of the countries where GNSS infrastructures have been rolled out?
