The Importance of Geospatial Technology in the Caribbean

The Importance of Geospatial Technology in the Caribbean: This year the Caribbean conference seeks to highlight the tremendous benefit that geospatial technology brings to Caribbean development and economy so that the decision makers can realize the importance of this technology and industry. This should lead to the recognition that more effort is needed to make sure that geospatial technologies are integrated into various activities in the region. While the technology has numerous benefits associated with its use, there are many organizations facing severe challenges in its implementation. It is therefore imperative to discuss the issues and explore appropriate solutions. This panel discussion on ‘The Importance of Geospatial Technology in the Caribbean’ will examine the various issues that organizations are facing in the region as well as what is the overall value proposition that geospatial technology brings to the Caribbean economy. The participants will include representatives from national governments, as well as experts from the vendor/consultant community.
