We are currently witnessing the emergence of a new trend in the geospatial industry: the use of aerial and ground based photogrammetric techniques to generate web accessible simulations of our environment. Three-dimensional models consisting of the geometry and texture of urban surfaces can aid applications such as cadastral and urban planning, national security, training, disaster simulation, and virtual-heritage conservation. In recent years, advances in photogrammetric software, and metric camera resolution and accuracy have enabled the generation of accurate digital surface (DSM) and 3D city models.

Through its European partners, West Indies Aerial Survey (WIAS) has the capability to generate high-resolution, geographically accurate and fully textured representations of natural and urban environments. This workshop will showcase the workflow, technology and techniques that WIAS leverages to provide highly accurate, cost effective geospatial solutions to its clients.
